My Story


I'm a fifth generation Estate Agent who has dedicated all my working life to the Real Estate profession.

Following my education at Caulfield Grammar School I entered the family real estate business in Elwood called William White & Sons (established in 1888) and went on to complete a Certificate of Business Studies (Real Estate) by 1989 when I qualified as a Licensed Estate Agent. 

Commencing in real estate in late 1984, I gained comprehensive experience across all aspects of real estate practice, including residential and commercial sales and leasing whilst working in our family business. In 1989, I completed extensive training and was a state finalist in the REIV Novice Auctioneers Competition, qualifying as an Auctioneer.

In 1999, William White & Sons merged with Wilson Pride, a prominent bayside estate agency. I was subsequently appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Wilson Pride group, overseeing its expansion from 5 to 24 offices in two years. In 2002 I acquired the sales operations of the Carnegie and Murrumbeena offices. 

In 2005 Wilson Pride merged with Century 21, a global real estate network comprising approximately 7000 offices; our Carnegie & Murrumbeena offices were re-branded Century 21. I divested my interest in the business in 2008.
 
In March 2008 I joined the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV)  in an administrative capacity initially serving as Member Liaison Manager and subsequently as Member Services Manager. 

In January 2012, I commenced with Elders Limited as State Real Estate Manager  for Victoria and Tasmania within the Elders Real Estate division. 

From September 2014 until May 2016, I served as Branch Manager of the Yarra's Edge office at Lucas Real Estate, an extremely progressive and vibrant City of Melbourne real estate firm based in Docklands. In 2015 I was appointed to lead their Commercial Division overseeing sales and leasing. 

In May 2016 I was appointed interim Chief Executive Officer by the REIV Board during the recruitment of a permanent successor. 

As testament to my commitment to the profession,  I served as Director of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for 10 years (1999-2007 & 2014-2016) and State President on two occasions (2003-2004 & 2015-2016) while contributing to numerous REIV committees and councils. I hold the designation of "Fellow" of the Real Estate Institute of Australia (FREI) and was awarded Honorary Life Member of the REIV in 2025.

Furthermore I have been a Director, and former Chairman, of an Industry owned internet portal  realstateVIEW.com.au (now known as View.com.au) and a former Director of Propertydata.com.au.

In March 2017, I commenced a consulting role with Real Estate of Melbourne, a boutique real estate firm specialising in apartment sales, off the plan sales  and property management. I also provided private advisory services as Geoff White for select clients.

In April 2017 I joined  CoreLogic / RP Data (now known as Cotality) Australia's largest property data and analytics organisation as State Director for Victoria and Tasmania and was subsequently appointed as National Head of Real Estate in November 2018.  Also in 2017 I joined the Board of Directors of the Property Investment Professionals of Australia, a role I held until April 2021. 

In July 2020 I joined the expanding PropTech firm of Movinghub as their Head of Real Estate for Australia and later serving as Strategic Advisor to the Real Estate Consortium (a Movinghub owned business) from December 2021.

In July 2022, I was appointed as a Branch Manager at Barry Plant's new Yarra's Edge office, helping establish the office applying my extensive real estate knowledge and expertise. 

In November 2025 until July 2026 I was appointed in a consultancy role as National Director of Real Estate for Azzet Australia an Australian owned, US based online media company. Among its offerings Azzet Australia operates a real estate portal focussed on  high-end real opportunities for high-net-worth clients. 

Having maintained a long standing relationship with the media over decades, I am frequently invited to provide commentary on the real estate profession and the property market. 

During my leisure time, I pursue my interest in motor vehicles and motor sport  particularly Formula 1 and V8 Supercars and follow the Carlton Football Club. I am a member of the  RACV club and enjoy exploring aspects of our great city, the City of Melbourne.
